Under the auspice of International of Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO), all countries in the world not only licensed the pilots who fly the aircraft, but also Aircraft Engineers and Aircraft Technicians who maintain and release the aircraft safe for flight.
In Malaysia, Civil Aviation Authority of Malaysia (CAAM) is the authority body that issues licenses for pilots, air traffic controllers, aircraft maintenance engineers and aircraft maintenance technicians.
Licensed Aircraft Maintenance Engineers
Ensuring you have a safe and pleasant flight, even before the aircraft takes off.
To protect against wear and deterioration that can lead to catastrophic failures in flight, aircraft are required to be maintained to approved methods and standards, which includes preservation, inspections, repairs, overhauls and replacement of parts.
Licensed Aircraft Engineers (LAEs) are skilled personnel, who are by law, determine an aircraft is safe and fit to be released for flight.
LAEs will certify in writing that the required inspections and maintenance tasks have been carried out accordingly. Once the 'Certificate of Release to Service (CRS)' is signed by the LAEs, it becomes a legally binding documents and attest to the LAEs personal accountability for the technical integrity and safety of the aircraft.
Potential LAEs have been earmarked, trained and promoted to high management positions in airlines and aircraft MRO organisations.
CAAM Aircraft Maintenance Engineer's Licence is recognised internationally under ICAO and qualified LAEs are very well sought after in overseas organisations.
