Assessments

APR-Aviation Training Centre offers Assessment packages to external students (aircraft maintenance personnel from AMOs) who have completed all CAAM Part-66 Examinations and have acquired the aircraft maintenance experience with Schedule of Work Experience for;

 

  1. Application for Grant of Licence Category A1, A3, B1.1, B1.3 and B2

  2. Licence Extension Category A1, A3, B1.1 and B1.3

  3. Limitation Removals Category B1.1, B1.3 and B2

  4. Validation of Foreign Aircraft Maintenance Licence

 

Our Assessment Packages include Logbook Review to ensure the required Schedule of Work experiences are fulfilled. Students may purchase APR-ATC's Logbook at RM 50.00 per Logbook.

All Assessments are oral-based and will be conducted by our CAAM-Approved Assessors at APR-ATC, Subang during office hours. Assessment Guide will be given prior to the Assessments.

Please take note that Assessment for Air Legislation, for 'Application for Grant of Licence' and 'Validation of Foreign AML' will be based on the Malaysia Civil Aviation Regulations (MCAR) 2016 and latest Airworthiness Notices.

 

Students are advised to attend Air Legislation & Airworthiness Requirements course at APR-ATC prior to the Assessment, if have never attended similar course before. 

1) Application for Grant of Licence - CAAM Part 66 Category A1/A3

Scope : Airframe, Turbine Engine (including propeller for A1), Avionics, Air Legislation and Maintenance Experience as per relevant ATA Chapters.

Requirements

- Minimum age 21 years old.

- Passed CAAM Examinations ;

 

For Category A1 - Module 1, 2, 3, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11A, 15 & 17.

For Category A3 - Module 1, 2, 3, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 12 & 15.

- Aircraft Maintenance Experience : minimum 3 years with Work Schedule

RM 2,950.00 for each category

2) Application for Grant of Licence - CAAM Part 66 Category B1.1/B1.3

Scope : Airframe, Turbine Engine (including propeller for B1.1), Avionics, Air Legislation and Maintenance Experience as per relevant ATA Chapters.

Requirements

- Minimum age 21 years old.

- Passed CAAM Examinations ;

 

For Category B1.1 - Module 1, 2, 3, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11A, 15 & 17.

For Category B1.3- Module 1, 2, 3, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 12 & 15.

- Aircraft Maintenance Experience : minimum 5 years with Work Schedule

RM 4,950.00 for each Category

3) Application for Grant of Licence - CAAM Part 66 Category B2

Scope : Airframe, Propulsion, Avionics, Air Legislation and Maintenance Experience as per relevant ATA Chapters.

Requirements

- Minimum age 21 years old.

- Passed CAAM Examinations ;

 

For Category B2 - Module 1, 2, 3, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 13 & 14.

- Aircraft Maintenance Experience : minimum 5 years with Work Schedule

4) Licence Extension A1/A3

Scope : Airframe, Propeller (applying for A1 only) and Maintenance Experience as per relevant ATA Chapters.

Requirements

- Currently hold valid CAAM Part-66 Category A1/A3 Licence

- Passed CAAM Examinations ;

 

For Licence Extension to A1 - Module 11A & 17.

For Licence Extension to A3 - Module 12.

- Aircraft Maintenance Experience : minimum 6 months with Work Schedule

RM 1,650.00 (A1) / RM 1,500.00 (A3)

5) Licence Extension B1.1/B1.3

Scope : Airframe, Propeller (appying for B1.1 only) and Maintenance Experience as per relevant ATA Chapters.

Requirements

- Currently hold valid CAAM Part-66 Category B1.1/B1.3/B2 Licence

- Passed CAAM Examinations ;

 

For Licence Extension B1.3 to B1.1 - Module 11A & 17.

For Licence Extension B1.1 to B1.3 - Module 12.

- Aircraft Maintenance Experience : minimum 6 months with Work Schedule

RM 2,250.00 (B1.1) / RM 1,950.00 (B1.3)

6) Licence Extension B1.1/B1.3

Scope : Airframe, Propeller (appying for B1.1 only) and Maintenance Experience as per relevant ATA Chapters.

Requirements

- Currently hold valid CAAM Part-66 Category B2 Licence

- Passed CAAM Examinations ;

 

For Licence Extension B2 to B1.1 - Module 6, 7, 11A, 15 & 17.

For Licence Extension B2 to B1.3 - Module 6, 7, 12 & 15

- Aircraft Maintenance Experience : minimum 1 year with Work Schedule

RM 3,300.00 (B1.1) / RM 3,200.00 (B1.3)

7) Licence Extension B2

Scope : Avionics, Airframe, Propulsion and Maintenance Experience as per relevant ATA Chapters.

Requirements

- Currently hold valid CAAM Part-66 Category B1.1/B1.3 Licence

- Passed CAAM Examinations - Module 4 (B2), 5* (B2), Module 7 (B2), 13 & 14. 

 

* Those who have done Basic Digital Avionics (BDA) Level 3 is exempted from Module 5 (B2), but evidence must be shown.

- Aircraft Maintenance Experience : minimum 1 year with Work Schedule

8) Limitation Removals Category B1.1 [Limitation No. 1 & No. 7]

Scope : Airframe, Avionics and Maintenance Experience as per relevant ATA Chapters.

For BCAR Section L - 'A' & 'C' [Aeroplanes 2 & Turbine Engines] Licence.

- Currently hold valid CAAM Part-66 Category B1.1 Licence

- Passed CAAM Examinations Module 3, 4, 5, 6* & 7* & 11A*.

- Aircraft Maintenance Experience : minimum 6 months with Work Schedule.

9) Limitation Removals Category B1.1 [Limitation No. 1 & No. 7]

For BCAR Section L - 'C' [Turbine Engines] Licence.

For BCAR Section L - 'A' & 'C' [Aeroplanes 2 & Gas Turbine Engines (Jet Turbine only)] Licence.

- Currently hold valid CAAM Part-66 Category B1.1 Licence

- Passed CAAM Examinations Module 3, 4, 5, 6* & 7*, 11A* & 17.

11) Limitation Removals Category B1.1 [Limitation No. 1, 7, 10 & 14]

Scope : Airframe, Avionics, Turbine Engine (including Propeller) and Maintenance Experience as per relevant ATA Chapters.

For BCAR Section L - 'A' [Aeroplanes 2] Licence.

- Currently hold valid CAAM Part-66 Category B1.1 Licence

- Passed CAAM Examination Module 3, 4, 5, *6, *7, *11A, 15 & 17.

Scope : Avionics and Maintenance Experience as per relevant ATA Chapters.

For BCAR Section L - 'A' [Aeroplanes 1] Licence.

- Currently hold valid DCAM Part-66 Category B1.2 Licence

- Passed DCA Examination Module 3, 4, 5, *6, *7, *11B.

[*Full-module or part-module on Electrical power generation & distribution]

​- Aircraft Maintenance Experience : minimum 6 months with Work Schedule.

13) Limitation Removals Category B1.3 [Limitation No. 1 & 17]

Scope : Avionics and Maintenance Experience as per relevant ATA Chapters.

For BCAR Section L - 'A' & 'C' [Turbine Engine Rotorcraft] Licence.

- Currently hold valid CAAM Part-66 Category B1.3 Licence

- Passed CAAM Examination Module 3, 4, 5, 6*, 7* & 12*

(*Full-module or part-module on Electrical Power Generation & Distribution Systems and Lights.

​- Aircraft Maintenance Experience : minimum 6 months with Work Schedule.

14) Validation of Foreign AML

Scope : Air Legislation

Requirements

[For detailed requirements by CAAM, kindly refer to AN 1102 Validation of Foreign Aircraft Maintenance Licence]

​

- not be less than 21 years 

- holds a valid FAML where the validity period shall be not less than six (6) months

- passed CAAM Part-66 Module 10 examination

- Currently employed in an AMO in Malaysia.
